NON EU citizens
For non-EU nationals, the so-called "Schengen residence permit" application must be submitted to the embassy or consulate of the country with the necessary papers, namely: third country nationals have to prove their livelihood, accommodation and health care access.
EU-EGT citizens
EU/EEA nationals who remain longer than three months in Hungary require a so-called “registration card” from the Immigration Office for an indefinite stay. For this it is necessary to prove that the foreign national has sufficient income, a place to stay and health insurance. On the basis of the registration card it is possible to receive a foreign person address card. A registered address is necessary for a TB-card (health insurance card) and a tax card.
