Third country nationals must request a work permit for employment if they have a paid job in Hungary, except for refugees, people entitled to subsidiary protection or asylum seekers, as well as immigrants or permanent residents, according to special regulations.
EU-EGT citizens
According to current legislation, EU/EEA or Swiss nationals can work without a work permit, but it is mandatory for them to register. According to special regulations, refugees, people entitled to subsidiary protection or asylum seekers, as well as immigrants or permanent residents in Hungary are not required to have a permit for the purposes of employment.
